Most churches think their members are gathered into one, simply to care for one another and to build one another up.
They do not know that GOD rules the world by the prayers of His Saints that:
Prayer is the power by which Satan is conquered;
By prayer the Church on earth has power and authority over the powers of the heavenly world!
We do not remember, it seems, that Jesus promised to set apart every assembly of believers gathered in His Name to be a gateway for heaven to enter the earth – a holy body of believers where His presence may be felt and His power seen as Father fulfills the godly desires of His people.
There will be great blessing when God’s people meet as one in the Name of Jesus – that is, when they meet in order to have His presence in the midst of a body that is all united in the Holy Spirit.
When this is so, then a Body of Believers may boldly claim the promise that whatsoever they agree to ask shall be done by Father ………….
Let us learn this lesson as we pray for the Church of our Lord Christ: She is like a poor widow in the absence of her husband – apparently at the mercy of her enemy and helpless to protect herself or retaliate.
When we pray for the Lord’s Church, or for any portion of it that is under the world’s power, let us ask Him to visit her with mighty workings of His Holy Spirit. Let us ask Him to prepare her for His coming.
When we pray in this way, we can do so in faith that is full and sure!
